Project Overview
The Golden Apple Scholars Program is a teacher preparation initiative for high school seniors, college freshmen, and sophomores pursuing an education career. The program supports future teachers with financial assistance, mentorship, summer training, and job placement in schools of need across Illinois, Michigan, and New Mexico.
This annual campaign is part of a larger mission to address the national teacher shortage, particularly in under-resourced communities, by recruiting and preparing the next generation of educators.
As the graphic designer on this campaign, I developed digital assets that promoted the program, elevated Scholar stories, and inspired prospective applicants to envision their future in the classroom.
My Contributions
Designed social media graphics for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
Incorporated storytelling elements to highlight real Scholar journeys, quotes, and the program’s long-term impact.
Maintained brand consistency across all platforms.
Created additional one-pagers and email visuals that reinforced the campaign’s core messaging and application calls-to-action.
Results
The campaign generated over 509,000 social media engagements and significantly increased interest in the Scholars Program.
Earned recognition with a Silver Stevie® Award and a Silver Trumpet Award for excellence in nonprofit communications.
